Hello.
My name is Cara Tallo.
I'm a freelance writer and editor who specializes in stories about women's health and social inequity.
My background is in broadcast journalism. I spent 23 years as a journalist and newsroom leader at NPR in Washington, DC before I left to pursue my MFA in Creative Writing at American University.
See my latest article for New York magazine's The Cut here. Other writing is archived here.
I'm currently querying agents on a narrative nonfiction book based on my Master's thesis, focused on eating disorders and bigger bodies in the age of GLP-1's like Ozempic. Here's a bit more about this work.
